About Us
Farmers Mutual Insurance was founded in 1886 by a group of farmers who wanted to protect their farmsteads against the risks of fire and lightning. Having an insurance company 100% owned by its policyholders proved to be very successful which allowed for expanded coverage options.
Over the years, Farmers Mutual Insurance has grown from that small group of farmers to over 13,000 policy holders with over $6 billion of property insured. Even with this growth, we have remained dedicated to providing that same personal and prompt service to our policyholders.
